If you have questions about school attendance, including school refusal, its important to act quickly, talk to the child and start a conversation with their school.
If the child or young person is already on a school roll contact the school directly. You can ask for a meeting to discuss any concerns.
If the child or young person doesn't have a school to attend contact the Education Welfare Service call the EWS Helpline 0117 3521438 or email education.welfare@bristol.gov.uk.
The options and support that might be available, including accessing different types of provision, will be dependent on the need and individual circumstances of the child or young person.
